Never before has the development, validation and industrial adoption of alternatives to animal testing been so high on the agenda of European Policy makers.

Driving forces including the 7th Amendment to the Cosmetics Directive, the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) program as well as the recently founded EPAA (European Partnership on Alternatives to Animal Testing) are forcing all stakeholders to share expertise and commitment to change current safety testing strategies in accordance with the 3Rs Declaration.

CARDAM devotes itself to replace and reduce the use of animals in safety testing, maintaining a high quality safety assessment.
